Het heeft even geduurd, maar ondertussen komt mijn diverse achtergrond mooi samen. Een studie Nederlandse taal- en letterkunde in Utrecht, filmopleidingen, bedrijfskunde en de Wackers Academie Amsterdam. Zo combineer ik nu mijn leven als kunstenaar en als adviseur Learning and Development. Geen gescheiden levens, maar juist in verbinding van analytisch denken en gevoelsmatig handelen, vertragen en versnellen, je laten horen en stil zijn.
In mijn werk draait het altijd om experimenteren. Dat betekent veel ontdekken wat niet werkt, je afvragen waarom dat zo is en tegelijkertijd een bruikbare schat aan ervaring en inzichten krijgen. Het duurt een tijd voordat het kunstwerk de eigen vorm heeft gevonden. Het werk bepaalt het tempo en bouwt zich gelaagd op met verschillende technieken, zoals tekenen, aquarelleren, spraypaint en drukken.
Ik ben opgegroeid aan ‘het Watertje’ en ’s zomers hou ik van zeilen en surfen. Dat verklaart misschien waarom transparantie zo kenmerkend is voor mijn werk. Samen met kleur. In mijn atelier staat vaak muziek aan: jaren 70, jazz en klassiek. Maar ook de eigenzinnige zangeressen van nu. Muziek roept emoties op die ik gebruik in mijn werk. Het helpt mij intuïtief om keuzes te maken.
Ik exposeer in binnen- en buitenland. En mijn werk is opgenomen in collecties van particulieren en bedrijven.

It took a while, but now my diverse backgrounds are coming together beautifully. I studied Dutch Language and Literature in Utrecht, film studies, business administration, and the Wackers Academy Amsterdam. This is how I now combine my life as an artist and as a Learning and Development consultant. Not separate lives, but rather a connection between analytical thinking and intuitive action, slowing down and speeding up, making yourself heard and being still.
My work always revolves around experimentation. This means discovering what doesn't work, questioning why that is, and simultaneously gaining a useful wealth of experience and insights. It takes a long time for each artwork to find its own form. The work determines the pace and builds up in layers using various techniques, such as drawing, watercolor, spray painting, and printing.
I grew up on ‘het Watertje’, and in the summer I love sailing and surfing. That perhaps explains why transparency is so characteristic of my work. Along with color. Music is often playing in my studio: 70s music, jazz, and classical music. But also today's idiosyncratic singers. Music evokes emotions that I use in my work. It helps me make intuitive choices.
I exhibit nationally and internationally. And my work is included in private and corporate collections.
